This is yet another Bambu Labs X1 filament splitter supporting external filament source and AMS without requiring the ptfe tube to be removed from the back of the X1.  Had issues with other splitters so I designed this one to allow for ptfe tube insertion right up to the printed filament splitter path.  The path for the spool and AMS are tapered at the end to help guide the filament in and the threaded ends support standard ptfe connector fittings.

Printed with PLA, 0.16mm layer height, 25% infill.  Highly recommend using a support interface filament to get good clean results/separation.

The clip is printed separate from the base and is inserted into the base.  There are 4 small tabs on the clip that will retain it in position and takes a bit of force to insert.  If it is too tight, try trimming the tabs on the first side you are inserting into the base.

Print Orientation:

  • Base - magnet side down
  • Clip - print on the side, requires a support layer as it will not sit flush on the print bed
  • Splitter - vertical with the X1 port down and the AMS/Spool ports at the top

Supports:

Highly recommend printing with a support interface material such as BambuLabs Support-W filament.   Works great.

Base requires 2 15mm x 3mm (~2.75 to 3) magnets.  Glued in with either an epoxy or superglue.

Splitter uses PC4-M10 fittings.  Example: https://www.amazon.com/BIQU-Straight-Pneumatic-Connector-Extruder/dp/B01IB81IHG/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3NGV9ETV4HE4P&keywords=4mm+m10+ptfe+fitting&qid=1674925184&sprefix=4mm+m10+ptfe+fitting%2Caps%2C204&sr=8-4

TODO:

I will be adding a new splitter that will keep the spool port inline with the AMS hub and the AMS port deflecting in a 10mm outward and 20mm downward direction.  If you have any thoughts on alternate routing please let me know.

Updates:

[2022-12-22] Added a new base that supports 6mm x 2mm magnets.

[2023-01-28] Updated text to include the needed PC4-M10 fittings.  Oversight on my part,

Cheers.
