Introduction;
As part of an 18-week school project, I've researched the difficulties in the lives of the elderly. It appears over 65% of people above the age of 60 (in the Netherlands) experience some difficulty while opening plastic bottles, milk cartons, or other types of screw-type bottle caps.
To make a difference in the lives of these people, I have designed an extremely effective, and easy-to-print model to enable the user to open any type of bottle with a cap of 26mm - 36mm in diameter. Even if their hands are not as agile anymore.
This model has been tested and verified working.
Idea;
This product only cost around 3 hours to print and 49 grams of PLA material.
Everybody can print this model for free for family or relatives, but you can also print a batch of 5 and donate them to your nearby medical centres.
Instructions;
Any rigid material will work. Just print with a normal profile, no additional supports or special settings are needed.
After printing, you'll need to remove the support structure shown below. When this is removed, just squeeze the handle to break the mechanism free and use the product.
Let's try making an impact again as a community. Print this model and donate it to the ones in need.
