This is the Monolith Dice Towers, three spaceship style dice towers. Its a huge model,  with internal helix paths for the dice to roll. It comes with hinged trays that fold open.

There are three versions:

  • Triangular Monolith (160mm in height, Prusa Mini and bigger), 1 rolling path
  • Square Monolith (180mm in height, Prusa Mini and bigger), 2 rolling paths
  • Hexagonal Monolith (210mm in height, Prusa Mk3 and bigger), 3 rolling paths
  • Also check this version: Hexagonal Monolith Bestagon Edition

The part clearance is 0.25mm and the model is print upside down. There is space to add a liner up to 2mm thick to the bottom of the trays (eva foam works great).

I made a 3mf file with presets, the parts are separated for individual print settings. The core is set to 3 perimeters to avoid solid infill and lightning infill is used, while the trays are set to 2 perimeters and regular grid infill for stability.

I dipped my toes into detailing and adding some decorative elements, if you have any ideas, I'm happy to try them out and add more variation.

Screw hinges: For the assembly you need M3x35 screw and a M3 nut per hinge. There is clearance for the head and the nut, but I recommend adding the nut first, then put shell and core together and add thr screw.

Update: A final version is made. The base is still the same with some minor improvements to the mechanics, but large improvements on the appearance. A set of Star Gate Ancient symbols (found here) is engraved on the model. If you have any ideas for other runes or symbolic things to add flavor, please feel free to contact me.

I also added small feet to the trays and changed the position of the hinge. This will compensate a slight bow in the print. The trays tend to get a slight curve around the top of the print. It's not much, but enough to bother me, so I decided to add tiny tiles and referenced them to the bottom of the tower when opened. So the tray stays parallel to the table.

Update: The Prusa Mini compatibel version, the Square Monolith, is available.

Update: The Monolith Tri, a triangular version with 1 path is available. I also added a blanc version of all the towers in case you want a clean looking print or add your own engravings-

Update: Screw hinged versions for assembly. Note here, to print the shells upright like the tower to ensure the parts fit together and compensate any print deformations or scaling irregularities the same way for all the parts.

Disclaimer: The dice in the pictures are my own creation, if you're interested in that, check out my Instagram profile and contact me there. Same for print on demand. I don't have a shop and do commissions and print on demand as my time allows.
