This is a pretty niche item, but one of my son's favorite toys is a stuffed Simba (from Lion King). He wanted a Blue Angels (US Navy flight demonstration squadron) flight helmet for his favorite toy, so I made him one.
The model cuts out room for Simba's ears and mohawk of mane. It has three actual parts. The main helmet, and models for the text. I printed the helmet in yellow and the text in Blue filament and super-glued the text into the inset of the helmet. The main helmet printed fine with build-plate only supports. I laid the text on it's back and printed with supports as well.
Please note that the current download of the model is slightly different than the one I printed out. I had failed to adjust OpenSCAD's default representation of a sphere, so the print I made had noticeable facets. I didn't see a point to reprinting it, since my son isn't that picky, but I figured I'd crank the facets of a circle up to 100 for the version I distribute through here (the default is 30).
The author hasn't provided the model origin yet.
