Homeassistant allows integrating electricity monitoring inside its home automation platform.

Homeassistant glow allows energy monitoring using the count LED present on many consumer meters in the UK and Europe.

This requires a photodiode mounted to the meter to count the pulses. The Github repo for the home assistant glow project has STL files for photosensor modules with only a photodiode mounted centrally on the device (similar to the device featured here) however I had trouble finding this specific device on eBay in the UK for a good price.

An alternative photodiode module can be found that includes an IR LED used for proximity sensing however the photosensor LED is offset so the original case cannot be used.

This case requires a M3x12 or M3x16 bolt and a M3 threaded heat set insert. Alternatively you can use glue to hold the device together if you do not need to disassemble it.

The LEDs need to be bent vertically to fit into the case after printing. The IR LED can be removed however this is not required. The sensitivity potentiometer is accessible from the bottom side after assembly.

Photographed prints are in PETG and PLA with a 0.6mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height.
