I saw and printed few other ornaments with lithophanes and few were really nice.
However, I wanted one that uses tea lights and have easy access to it to be able to turn them on and off. Couldn't find one so decided to create one.
In this model tea light is exposed at the back that gives access to the on/off switch also lights up the lithophane better. Putting the light on the bottom was causing bottom of the lithophane to not light up as much. There is also a channel at the top to loop a string through to hang on the tree. It also prevents the ornament to spin.
Tea Lights
It uses regular led tea lights as long as the diameter is less than 38mm it will fit. I used the following from Amazon
Lithophane
As for the lithophane, I created using ItsLitho • Free Online Image to Lithophane Maker (You can use any site/app). Opening for the Lithophane is 60mm, and there is a lip that's 2mm so I used the following parameters;
Diameter size can be slightly different for you depending on the tolerances your printer can print. For me this size gave the snug fit without the need for any sanding.
Also Thickness values are up to you based on your picture.
Ornament
No supports are needed, just make sure tea light holder opening is facing the build plate. I printed with following settings;
Material : PLA
Layer Height : 0.2mm
Nozzle : 0.4mm
But it should be pretty straight forward to print as there is no real complicated parts to it.
