Got the kid some triops eggs and we had an extra 1.7 litre Ikea 365+ jar laying around, the ones with the bamboo sealer lid. We also have a curious cat that is a bit of a killer, she became interested in the triops once they reached about 1cm in size, so this is a triops protector/cover. Triops love lots of light so that was a key criteria.
This model is for any of the sizes that are the same diameter, about 145mm wide. I made it a little wider than necessary and put a couple of thin strips of adhesive wool floor protectors to make it snug. If you don't want that you can narrow the model by a few mm. But you can always scale up and down in your slicer to work with any cylindrical container!
I knocked this out in TinkerCAD online using the duplicate and repeat command to layout a hexagon punch-out so it lets lots of light in and air can circulate, plus hexagons are cool. Maybe you can use it for an impromptu fish or beast tank too.
