I was having trouble with tall prints coming detached from the print bed so I designed this magnetic 3d printing bed brace.

It allows for four 8mm x 3mm magnets to be attached to the bottom of the brace, which in turn hold the brace firmly to my metal PRUSA print bed.

Braces can be used in pairs, or more if needed, to hold the print object in place.

Here are two in action: https://youtu.be/Ul_DoyXgdg4

I use Octoprint to print the object to a point where it is high enough that I can pause the print, raise the extruder, carefully align the braces, lower the extruder, and resume the print.

The magnetic feet are offset a bit from the bottom of the brace such that the bottom of the brace doesn't touch the print bed - only the magnets touch the print bed.

There is also a small overhang which allows the brace to clamp over the print brim (if one exists).

You can get a package of magnets from Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07842PSJD/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B07842PSJD&linkCode=as2&tag=wwpccom-20&linkId=0299dace2985213bdc66ee3e960fd9f7 or elsewhere.

The magnets fit into the holes at the bottom brace, I used some Gorilla glue to help hold them in place.

One last tip: magnets have a north and south pole. When putting the magnets in place make sure all are facing with the same pole outward. It does not matter which pole faces outward, just that they all face in the same direction. The reason this is done is that if you always follow this practice and print two or more of the braces, when the braces are not in use, they can be stored together with one brace attracting and attaching (effectively snapping onto) to the next brace perfectly.
