‘Sägertorn’ is a flat-pack dice tower. Not appearing at an Ikea near you any time soon. It incorporates 3 tumbling slats and a discharge ramp. Board games pack flat, why shouldn’t the dice tower? This tower can pack-flat into the top of the box of your favourite game.
Gcode for Mk3 & BGcode for Mk4 ( you require 3x rattlers & 1x turbo-exit ramp)
It is quick to erect and can comfortably accommodate 2 dice up to 16x16mm. It comes with two exit ramps, standard (packs away easier) and enhanced (to maintain momentum for heavier dice). There are 3 main parts (front, rear & base). Each part has print in place hinges and then have snap catches to clip the 3 elements together (see pics for assembly). Printed in PETG for durability and to allow the ‘flex’ required for the snap catches, with plenty of hex cut-away to reduce filament cost.
Update (Dec22): Was asked by a friend for instructions to include since was printed as a child's present. Instructions now included here (PDF).
Note1: I used self-adhesive green baize cloth on the back of the base (see pic), so that it wouldn't scratch any surface / table it was used on.
Note2: Hinge tolerances are 0.5mm which should work on all printers and the prints require no supports.
