Update - 12/14/2022 - v2.2 accommodates an m6 heatsert for better clamping force and reusability - overall adjustments including more centered holes, extra material and better fit to the 38mm tube
v2 heatserts link:
for 38mm bar
Realign your bumper! Ditch the pool noodles. these are still a work in progress so feel free to remix them. originally intended for the S14 240sx with a tube front frame - i noticed during crash bar replacements the ability to correct the bumper fitment may result in needing spacers so i came up with this adjustable design.
print instructions: i used 4 wall / 15% infill with pla to prototype - id suggest 20% or 30% if you can afford the filament for more durability although i didn't seem to need that. print on the side. if needed stick the file into tinker cad and remove material , or simply install the adjusters backwards to suit your needs. the holes in the top are for future mounts to add to if necessary, like a lip, zip tie mount, etc.
Installation instructions
the hardware used was 6mm bolts -35mm thread length. The hole size is supposed to accommodate a tap - tap the hole roughly 5mm to start threads - back off and install bolt - tighten only until bumper mount is snug.
feel free to drop in some heat threaded inserts for a more robust reusable design - although i had good results with only PLA and using the bolt to make the rest of the threads - i suggest you print in PETG for the summer months to avoid too much deformation or thread failure
once they are snug, to hold the bumper yet able to still be clocked - position them accordingly and then tighten down till they are not going to move. it is not necessary to use an impact or over tighten them - just enough to hold the bumper from abrupt movements.
drop -30mm through the build plate for “half size”
