The Mini Tripod for DSLR and Digital cameras offers a full 360 degree rotation plus 180 degrees of tilt and is exactly what I was looking for specifically for 3D scanning. It also locks down well, once you add the noted washer to the deck screw.
In addition, it looks valuable and fantastic.
My extension allows using a mobile phone instead of a camera.
The maximum supported phone width is 80mm, and the minimum is 50mm. The maximum thickness is 10mm.
I don't want to go unmentioned that I took over two parts from Tripod Phone Stand (no screw!).
PRINTING INFORMATION
ORIGINAL PARTS YOU NEED
You use all the original Mini Tripod parts except head.stl. I replaced this original part with head-modified.stl. It is compatible with the original, only two screw holes have been added.
The author of the original Mini Tripod made a longer list of nuts and bolts required. I didn't buy these but printed matching ones. If you haven't printed and assembled the original Mini Tripod yet, you can use the included all-bolts-and-nuts.stl.
Of course printed screws are not as stable as metal screws, but for my purposes these are sufficient. I wouldn't use it with an expensive camera though. So, like me, use these at your own risk. And don't over tighten the printed screws.
