I really love this idea, and I'm sure I'm going to make one.
But what struck me was how useful this swivelling-style base would be if I could pop it off the vice and clamp it to the vertical column of my existing bench drill press.
Then I put my workpiece in its drilling fixture/jig and put that in the clamp.
Then attach the clamp to the drill press to drill all the required holes, and then move the whole clamp to this printed tapping arm to tap them.
Magic!

The only trouble is that the support column on my drill press is 46mm in diameter... darn.

But I'll probably still make one. This is cool!

Does anyone know where I can find the tutorial for assembling the fractal vice? He mentions the link would be in the video description but it's not there.

I've finally gotten around to printing the fractal vice. It's very possible that I'm doing something wrong, but I've found that the jaw swivels slide out *incredibly* easy. I wish that the dovetails were wider, rather than taking up a third of the arc of the back of each swivel.

Holy shit you are a nerd and a genius and I love it! :D Good stuff!

I cannot seem to find the "Simpler" version of the fractal jaws - the TPU versions. Were they possibly missed?

The bom is incorrect? I bought M4x50mm screws specifically for this and they're significantly too short

I'm working on a remix for hardware I have on hand, but cannot figure out the purpose of the rear block.

So, after putting everything together, it has been quite difficult to put together with living an the USA and not having quick access to metric sizes especially at the length you used. It would be great if 1) you made a more use friendly list of accurate screw sizes/lengths 2) possibly made a SAE model for us Americans ... lol

@TheExceed_291976 Since only around 4% of the world's population uses SAE units, it's not very economical to transfer every model for such a small number of people. There are online-shops like metricscrews.us and others who provide everything you need for a reasonable price, or you can use websites that convert the units to "fitting" screws & stuff: https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/screws-metric-inches-equivalents-convert-conversions-d_2056.html -I hope this might help, I wish you all the best! :-)

@Schlumpf_638058 So its not practical for 335 million people? Don't skew the data by talking with small percentages to reflect a very large population. What's the percentage of USA population vs world population who actually have 3d printers? Bet the percentage is much larger.
