A really fast E3DBuggy ! For San He g173 speed racer buggy owners (also named S-idee, Hosim, or Absima by some sellers).
This body is based on a scaled up E3DBuggy (5.3/1 scale) with few modifications. The bottom of the model, including the wheels, has been hollowed to match the car frame and make sufficient room for the bigger wheels with suspension and direction. It's connected to the frame's front and rear brackets, and secured with the original buckles on the front side, and with m2.5 screws on the rear side.
I lowered the roof and replaced the pillars with smaller cylinder bars to improve the drag coefficient (and give it a more compact “racing” look). It will also allow me to replace broken parts in anything happens. The bars are connected to the body and roof with small screws.
I also separated the trunk for better print quality, and to make it in a different color. It is also attached with screws
The spare wheel present on the original g173 body is attached with an additional part fitting in the rear hole of the E3DBuggy, which seems to be meant for this !
A new front bumper part replaces the existing one, which would not attach properly with the new body.
The main part is printed in PLA with two perimeters, 0.6mm top/bottom thickness and 5% infill. I used supports in most places but I believe that they could be largely avoided. This print required about 150g of PLA, plus 50g for supports. It needs the full size of the Ender 3 print bed !
The different colors of the top are printed separately and glued on top of each other, to simplify the printing and avoid the colored stripes around the flag. The supporting bars are made in nylon, and printed flat with just a brim. This gives some flexibility to absorb shocks, if any.
