This print will allow you to wall mount the Ikea Fado lamp. This print securely holds the base of the glass globe allowing it to be mounted onto a wall. This print consists of 3 parts, a ring that glues onto the existing Fado base and two clips that screw onto the Fado base.
Materials needed:
- 4 – M4 x 16mm
- 4 – M4 nuts
- 4 – #4 flat washers
- 1 – Large pan head screw
- Glue
- 4mm or 5/32 drill bit
- 5mm or 3/16 drill bit (this size doesn’t have to be exact just a touch larger than the other drill bit)
Assembly Instructions: (See photos)
- Glue 3d printed ring onto the base of the Ikea Fado lamp.
- With the 4mm or 5/32 drill bit, drill out the 4 holes on the clips.
- Press in the M4 nuts into the clips.
- Position the clips on the Fado base. With a pencil, nail, or a small drill bit, make a mark on the Fado base.
- With the 5mm or 3/16 drill bit, drill the marked holes. Do a test fit to make sure the holes line up with the nuts on the clips.
- Attach the base of the Fado lamp onto the glass globe. Turn lamp upside down. Pass the clips through one of the holes in the Fado base. Do your best to line up the clips with the drilled holes and screw in the bolts. This step can be tedious but be patience.
- Screw large pan head screw into wall. Drive the screw in until there is about 2.5cm or about 1 inch protruding from the wall. The screw should sit in the notched out half circle. Carefully hang the lamp on the screw. You will have to adjust the depth of the screw so that the lamp sits tightly against the wall.
