This is a housing for a XMT7100 PID temperature control. You can use it to control the water temperature in the Rancilio Silvia espresso machine.

  • The housing holds nicely onto the top crease of the Rancilio Silvia espresso machine. It is angled to increase dispay readability and ease button access.
  • The inside of the front is chamfered, so you can pull the PID out again for maintenance.
  • Holes on top and the vent slits on the side will keep the PID cold.
Thanks go to Ryuichi Maeda (prismtone) for his nice "Ptf Nordic Round" font.

Print instructions

Print either with or without the front label "Boilertemperatur". Both STL files are available. If you stop at 104mm with zPos, change the filament to print the writing in another color (as seen in the photos).

Modify your Silvia, put all cables through a tube (ductwork), guide the tube through the back hole and fix it with some cable ties.
The PID will snap into the case. As the inside of the front is chamfered, you can pull the PID out again for maintenance.

When attaching the housing, note that the small crease is put in on purpose: It fits nicely into the front groove on the espresso machine (between the silver and black metals).

The holes on top and the vent slits on the side should keep the PID cold (it doesnt heat up much anyway. Hot parts like the solid state relay are inside the espresso machine).

Have fun!
