This tool helps you find optimal parameters for printing glasslike objects. You can combine the knobs into a wall decoration using honeycomb wall system.
My idea was to start with basic prusament PETG 0.2 parameters with 100% aligned rectilinear infill, ironing and no cooling. I wanted to test the temperature, speed and flow affect the clarity of the print.
I added color change to the gcode just to stop the printer, so I could stick a label onto the model with basic glue stick. Then I continue printing with proper settings.
IMPORTANT (only gcode and m3f files): The bottom should be printed with cooling, to not be warped. I didn't find a way to program the fan in prusa slicer, so you have to manually turn it off after sticking the label.
The filament I used for this project is Fiberlogy Pure PETG.
At first I printed 4 knobs changing only the temperature on the printer (240, 235, 230, 225°C) with 100 flow and 40% speed. 230°C turned out to be the clearest. Than I printed next 6 knobs, changing flow (105, 101, 99, 98, 97, 96). 97 was the best, so I started changing speed (60, 50, 45, 35%). I decided to check more precisely the temperature, so I printed 229°C and 231°C knobs.
The final result was 229°C, 97 flow, 40% speed. I combined all printed knobs into intersecting lines, that show the process of my research.
In the future I'm planing to check the layer thickness, different nozzles and maybe even some PLA filament.
Edit: I achieved better results with 0.8 nozzle, 0.15 mm layer height, 231°C nozzle temperature, 102 flow and 47% speed, using my Fiberlogy pure PETG filament
