Potential Danger!

CO₂ is under 57bar pressure ( 5.7 MPa). So be aware this is not a toy - wear protection glasses and gloves. Dry Ice is very cold -78°C ( - 108° F )  direct contact can lead to severe burns.

Print with lot infill and multiple walls. As this will not contain the bottle pressure but expand it to form dry ice there is not so much danger. Don't remix this into a connector that would be under pressure - it will explode!

USE

  1. screw expansion valve on the CO₂-cylinder  (½ turn) DO NOT TIGHTEN!
  2. Turn cylinder upside down - open side of the valve pointing towards earth.
  3. fold a towel and put over the opening to catch the dry ice snow. Also around to catch debris if your print disintegrate unexpectedly RUD
  4. Now turn the valve until the bottle valve opens and back again.
  5. Only use for a short burst, check the result- longer continuous use will cool down and internal build up of dry ice can happen.
  6.  You will now have white dry ice snow on the towel .. press the towel to compact it DO NOT TOUCH IT! (if compact it will sink in water - else it will float on the surface)
  7. Put a small piece in a drink and amaze you friends with falling fog.

Do Not ingest!

Do Not touch - it will stick to your finger instantly and cause frostbites!

Do Not put in sealed/airtight container or bottles - they will explode!

Don't build dry ice bombs! It is unpredictable, dangerous and illegal.

To compress and form nice dry ice capsules you can use the Pill former.
