Sick of your very limited test filament tangling halfway through? I gotcha!
Prints equally well in PLA or PETG, if you need to dehydrate your filament, you'll probably be better off printing this in PETG for the better deformation temperature.
This spool will hold about 15m of 1.75mm filament. 3mm filament isn't really catered for as I don't have any to test, but while the holes won't hold the filament you will be able to wind it on the spool. I designed this spool to hold the dual colour filament I was making:

Print side 1 and 2 of a similar type (Lite, semi-lite or regular). the female side has a hole for the filament to feed through to start it off. How annoying is it that there is only a single filament clip/holder around the edge of most spools? well, the outer edge of this spool also has a lot of holders so you won't have to wind too far to secure your filament. (although the 10mm gap between the sides might be a little finicky)
So, what are the different types? well, the full version is nice and chunky and will hold up to most things you throw at it. The semi-lite has a thinner side but is still well supported in the center, and it uses a lot less filament. The lite version uses less filament again. Both the lite versions will probably best suite printing in PLA due to it being stiffer.
