@vtcnc_437425 It's possible, but I haven't gotten many downloads of them. One thing I was wondering looking at your model, is about the open rectangular portion on the back of the dovetail? Did you by any chance try it both with that cutout, and without? Reason for asking, is often times you don't save much (if any) print time or material making holes in things, due to the extra perimeters generated vs. just having infill there. Of course the extra perimeters may have been what you were after by doing that.
@Netpackrat All good questions. I only printed with the open cutout. That is interesting what you point out regarding print times. To answer some of your questions, I suppressed the cavity and exported to PrusaSlicer. In draftmode, 20% infill, the program shaves off about 5 minutes from the program with the cavity.
I'm a metalworker by trade and have experience with design, including that with castings. So, I think my castings design influence is showing here. I like saving material and yielding near net shapes. Plus, modeling in Fusion is fun.
I do wonder if a thicker cross section would hold more heat and reduce any very slight distortions I'm feeling on the bed side of the print. Thanks for the feedback, I think I'll try a solid piece and see how that works.
