I wanted a low cost storage solution for all the screws I've collected over the years didn't want to spend any more money on expensive organizer boxes with removable bins. I bought these large 24 compartment 14-15/16 in x 9-¼ in organizers from Harbor Freight (SKU 94458, 61881) and designed these organizer bins to go into them.
Bins have a flat spot on the back sized for a 12mm wide label from a label maker.
I took a lot of inspiration from this gridfinity bin design: https://www.printables.com/model/230603-gridfinity-vase-mode
24 Compartment Organizer: https://www.harborfreight.com/24-divider-storage-container-94458.html
You can either print these normally to print many at once or with vase mode printing one at a time. Here are basic settings that should work with either approach:
Print Settings | |
---|---|
Layer Height | 0.4mm (with 0.8mm nozzle) |
External Perimeter Speed | 50 mm/s |
External Perimeter Width | 1mm (with 0.8mm nozzle) |
Bridge Flow Ratio | 100% |
Settings for printing multiple bins at once (not using vase mode). To be used with the settings in the above table.
Print Settings-Multiple Objects | |
---|---|
Solid Layers | 0 |
Bottom Layers | 2 |
Perimeters | 1 |
Sparse Infill | 0 % |
Ensure Vertical Shell Thickness | Off |
Gap Fill | Off |
Seam Position | Corners |
You can experiment with settings as needed of course, this is just a good starting point. If you don't have a 0.8mm nozzle, you can also try printing with two smaller perimeters, it will just take longer. One of these organizers holds 4x corner bins and up to 16x 2x wide bins or 32 1x wide bins. The two front compartments have some extra plastic so a normal size bin doesn't fit in them, as shown in the photo of my organizer.
Enjoy!
