I keep my printer on a stack of euro containers (a.k.a. euro box - euro crate). this model to be specific.
I did not really like the spool support that came with my printer (Anycubic i3 Mega) so I've decided to design a part that hangs on the crate handle and reuse some of its parts (bolts and pipe).
I've then realized that since the spool is now suspended in the air I can also poke a hole in a zip bag to keep the filament dry so I've designed a small ring that fix the bag to the spool support.
Now my filament stays dry and out of sight
disclaimers:
the ring to connect the plastic bag to the support is too tight for the pipe I've used (18 mm diam.) I've filed it down and managed to make it work. you might consider modifying the provided FreeCAD files.
to assemble everything you will need:
3 x M3 18 mm bolts (and nuts) (the same provided with my printer filament support)
3 x M4 5 mm counter sunk bolts (and nuts) for the plastic bag adapter
1 x 18 mm pipe (recycled from my printer spool support)
As mentioned earlier the FreeCAD (open source CAD program) files are available if you wish to customize it for your needs.
