I loved the idea of the Laptop Saver cup holder (link below), but it wasn't quite what I wanted so I made my own, inspired by it. I suggest you check out that model before printing this one, it might be more to your taste. This model needs glue.
This model is chunkier (for larger mugs), with a bigger screw knob, trapezoidal screw threads and it can all be printed flat on the bed. It does, however, require glue.

Print suggestions:
- Use 3 or more perimeters, and sufficient infill (I went with 25% gyroid)
- print the threaded parts (screw and clamp bottom) separately at a fairly high quality setting (I went with .15 layer height) and upright (see screenshot)
- print the remaining parts at lower detail, the cup holder part is large and will take a while, but do use sufficient perimeters and infill
- I used PETG, PLA is too brittle and will droop over time (pictured: Prusament recycled PETG). If you are using ABS, you might want to scale down the threaded parts (screw and clamp bottom) slightly to get more clearance, say 95%
- adding some rubber to the top clamp and screw end parts makes it a lot more stable once mounted
Assembly:
- after printing all the parts, slide the “clamp top” part into the cup holder with the flat side on the bottom (see image)
- slide the “clamp bottom” behind it, with the threaded part at the bottom
- if they fit, slide them out again and use glue (e.g. medium cyanoacrylate) to glue them in place; make sure they are assembled tightly and the joint is strong
- screw in the screw, and clip the "screw end" piece onto it (this will require force); some silicone grease or similar may help
