Celebrate with a customizable Turkey Coaster!

Designed with my daughter for single-extrusion printing, the feather pieces snap into the base turkey design. Use as a drink coaster or print it as a fun activity for kids. My children love the feathers! We are printing some for the family at Thanksgiving and bringing feathers in various colors so everyone can customize their turkey.

Print your turkey feathers as a set or individually in any colors you like!

Solid turkey (no holes in feathers) also included for a simple print. (See last photo on printer.) Or print the solid turkey with one filament swap after 3 mm to highlight the edges.

Tip: Arrange the feather tiles upside down to preview your turkey before locking them in. We have been able to remove tiles with a small, flat screwdriver, but if your prints have a tighter fit, that might not work well. Try the test models first.

3D Printing Settings

Turkey Coaster is approximately 177 x 160 x 5 mm. The coaster circle has a diameter of 100 mm (94 mm inside the edge).

We printed with 0.25 mm layers, 3 top/bottom layers, 2 perimeters, and 15% infill.

Note: The pegs on the feather tiles are 3 mm in diameter. The Turkey Coaster has two versions with slightly different hole sizes: 3.2 mm diameter (0.10 mm tolerance around) and 3.3 mm diameter (0.15 mm tolerance around). We found each one worked better on a different printer. Among the files, I included "Feather Test" models for each hole size so you can see what works best for you before printing the whole turkey.

On our Prusa MK3S, we found “Turkey Coaster 0.10” worked best.

Another option is to scale the turkey or the feathers slightly in the x and y directions to adjust the fit if the included models are too loose or too tight. This may alter the peg alignment, but it is something to try. (Note: Adjusting the z would alter the height of the peg length or hole depth, so do not scale uniformly in all three directions for minor adjustments.)
