The MG Marvel R features a wireless smartphone charger, but it's slot is too narrow for most smartphones with a (silicone) case. However, if you remove the rubber insert that's located inside the slot, you'll find out there's much more room available, but now the phone will rattle around since the slot is too big. I’ve designed an insert so that my Google Pixel 6 with with Spigen Ultra Hybrid Clear Case will fit snugly into the slot instead of rattling around.
This insert will probably fit most other smartphones as well, since the Google Pixel 6 is an exceptionally chonky boy. The dimensions of the case (with phone) I used to model this insert are as follows: 78.74 (width) x 11.94 (depth) mm. Height is irrelevant in this case as the phone will stick out at the top regardless. I rounded up the numbers for tolerance.
Depending on where you live, I recommend printing this part with heat resistant filament, such as ABS or ASA, as temperatures can run pretty hot inside your car interior during the summer. Print in an upright position without supports. At least 15% infill is recommended. Layer height does not matter, 0.2 or 0.3mm are both fine.
Installation is super easy and quick: just remove the current rubber insert and slide this one in. It will hold itself into place, no screws or glue needed. Checkout my 'installation' video:

Disclaimer: Obviously this is not an official MG part. I’m not responsible nor can be hold liable for any potential damage or injury it may cause. It works for my use case, but your mileage might vary. I'm not a designer. In fact, this is my first 3D model ever. My goal was an easy print with function over form in mind. Feel free to remix the model to make it look nicer. Not for resale or commercial use.
