Many people use this stick to find a reproducible position, such as centric relation.  We use it to take bite registrations for nightguards.  Hold the stick parallel to the plane of your choice, and have the patient move to the desired position.

Each step represents a 1mm jump in height.  The opposite side is staggered to give you half mm increments if needed.

As far as printing, use a Class 1 resin approved for short term skin contact.  Sprintray Die and Model Resin meets this criteria at a reasonable cost, so it's our go to.  You could also print these fairly easily on an FDM printer.  If you do so, print it in bright blue or whatever color your scanner can filter out.

File Contents

  1. the original bite stick, 12 mm wide
  2. a newer “XL” version that is 15mm wide
  3. a zip file containing a pre-arranged Pro 95 platform full of XL bite sticks
  4. "Open force" stick, a remix of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2950013
  5. “Open force” stick, pre-sliced for Pro 95
  6. “Beveled XL” is a 15mm wide XL stick, with a 15 degree bevel to allow printing directly on the side of the stick.  This may produce a “big foot” on some printers.
