This is the magic wand remixed with a modified bottom. I found the original hard to print (stringing and uneven surface). This remix adds an additional partial cone at the bottom, which provides a larger flat surface and steeper lower perimeter. No other modification was made.
These are printer specific, your mileage may vary.
I have also used FreeCAD to add embossed text with the childrens' names on the wands. Watching a FreeCAD tutorial helped (add a cone that aligns with the magic wand at the place where you want the text, reduce the angle to 180° or less, then project the text on the round surface. Play with padding height of text to get the emboss effect).
I have printed them in Prusament PETG Galaxy Black. The sparkles made a nice effect and I liked it more than a jet black test print.
Printer | Mk3s+ |
Filament | Prusament PETG |
Infill | 100% on top, 25% on other parts |
Supports | None |
Scale | 90% (otherwise too large for this printer model, scale all parts) |
Brim | 8mm for handle and top (tip and bottom print fine without) |
Use 100% infill to avoid easy breaking (tried at 25% before but made them rather brittle).
