uSD Card Magnetic Box (3x5 uSD cards)

I wanted to have a compact box to organize my uSD cards. They needed to be easily accessible and organizable and I wanted the box to be held tightly shut by hidden magnets embedded into the design.
The hinges I also wanted to be printed in place - being small while still sturdy enough to withstand daily use.

Print instructions

This uSD card box is designed to be held tightly shut by four 5x5x5mm magnets, embedded during the print into the prepared hidden openings.

For this to work, it is adviced to add a stop mark into the slice file to know exactly when the right time has come to embed the magnets.

In PrusaSlicer this can done with a color change mark for the first layer above the magnet compartments.

For the top and bottom perimeters I recommend a Hilbert-Curve fill pattern as it produces a beautiful almost magicially shining surface.

I printed on my Original Prusa Mini with 0.15 Quality setting with Galaxy Silver PLA Prusament.
