My custom insert for Scythe + expansions

I <3 Scythe. I wanted some sort of in-box organizer for all the bits and minis. I also wanted to put the Invaders from Afar, Winds Gambit, and Encounters expansions in there.  I do have Fenris but I haven't played it yet and didn't want to spoil anything by including it. Whatever's in there wouldn't have fit anyway.

My main goal was to make set-up quicker: just grab a faction box and the mats and you're good to go.  Those big, chunky airships made it an interesting challenge. After several iterations I decided to include the token drawers underneath. This left more 'floor space' for the minis.

I'm not sure if I should be proud or ashamed of that diagonal placement for the airships.  It's a hack, but it works. I do plan on painting the minis so I included magnetic mounts to keep them all in place.

Everything fits, but I do have to put some of the resource tokens in the top of the encounter box.  This irks me, but not enough to re-do everything.  I'm pretty sure I could refine the current design to make space for those last few tokens - but I'm just kind of sick of thinking about it all at this point. :)

If I did this over I think I would put all the airships in one box to save space. I'd also be more careful about measuring all the cards and  tokens. I didn't really plan the rest of the layout before printing all of the faction boxes. I was thinking: "they'll be plenty of space."  There was not.

I'm very happy with the results and I accomplished all of my goals for the project. Time to go play a game!

Printing notes:  The only model that needs supports is the main faction box. It'll just need supports across that one bridge for the drawer. The remnants of the supports provide just enough resistance to keep the drawer closed. :)  You'll need to glue the floors inside the main boxes.

There are 3 version of the lids for the Faction boxes. One is thinner to save filament and make a couple millimeters more room, the other has finger holes that make it easier to unpack. I'd recommend using at least one box with the holes or you'll struggle to get the first box out.
