It's time to travel to the moon aboard the Spacecraft Giraffe! Watch as it rocks back and forth with a turn of the key, keeping a smile on its face and, hopefully, yours.

This is my 2nd attempt at creating a simple toy with a cartoonish design. It is reminiscent of my previous designs based of the old Weird-Ohs and Ratfink models.

The model rocks back and forth at a 25 degree each way with just enough friction to hold it leveled (upright) in the middle.

Please let me know if there are any problems with the model. Constructive feedback is always welcome.

NOTES

  • FDM print only.
  • For "Giraffe Body 1, it can be printed in two ways: either on the flat end, (more stable buts adds annoying supports between the back and chair), or upright with the legs facing down (less difficult supports to remove but brim is required instead of raft). I apologize in advance for making it like this. It's just how it ended up being designed.
  • Please ignore any "not watertight" warning for the model.
  • You must glue all the pieces together. The pegs are there as a guide for the pieces to fit.
  • There are small parts that require supports (i.e. tail, legs,). Be careful removing them.
  • I recommend using an infill of 10-15% for the body and spacecraft to keep it light for the rocking feature. The base could be 15-20% (or more) to keep the model steady.
