Ever been in a situation where you need to upgrade your computer's storage and realize that the new super fast 2.5in SSD doesn't bolt to the 'old' 3.5in HDD drive bay? (assuming that the SATA or SAS + power are fixed in place and the drive bay slides in)
Well, this adapter is for you!
You must be careful of the height of the base plate. Currently is 2mm and in it works on the HP Z800 workstation bays. However, the bottom of the caddy might be a little high and the adapter bottom height must be reduced. For that, I uploaded 3 variations: 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm. You should measure the distance from the bottom of a 3.5in hdd mounted on the bracket to the bracket to choose the version.
The photos correspond to the 2mm version.
I intended to support the SSD from the bottom instead of sideways. If the support was from the sideways, the bottom height wouldn't be a problem. However the SSD only was supported from one side. If a bottom bracket was included, we would have the bottom height constriction again. Maybe in the future I will design one with support from the sides. Who knows.
Disclaimer: Yes, the computer is very dirty. No, it's not mine. Yes, its from work. Yes, I am a student. No, they don't pay me enough to bother cleaning one of the lab's computers.
