I never can have enough robots around ;o) … Here you have another large 75cm filament print of one. This one is based on the role playing game “Rifts” from “Palladium Books”. There appear different kinds of bots in this game and they differ quite a lot … This specific robot is an A-63 Archie Heavy Duty Bot can be seen on the cover of the “Rifts Sourcebook 1” and was designed by “Kevin Long”.
The original 3D model was designed by an artist on Fiverr for me. I don't have any art skilles in my genes. So I am happy when some artist can create the models for me … Nevertheless I want to share these with other robot enthusiasts like me.
This one was printed with Prusament PLA Blend Royal Blue.
Full credit for the robot design and the 3D model goes to the artist on Fiverr.
The 3D model of this robot was designed by “unipixel”. Here is the link to his Fiverr account: https://fiverr.com/share/QDa67j
To mount the parts there are holes included which fit standard 40mm long, 8mm or 10mm in diameter wooden bolts (very rarely also 30mm x 6mm if there was not enough room for larger ones).
I printed the files as prepared, removed the supports and glued the parts together with super glue for the surfaces and mounting glue for the wooden bolts.
For Printing a usually choose quite strong settings since I made the experience that printing such larg figures make thin walls and low infills very fragile. But all 3mf files are included as well. So change the settings to your preferences to make the print faster & cheaper or even tougher :) …
Also included is the uncut STL file … so you can scale the robot to your needs.
Enjoy
