I designed this dental floss holder, to help make the disposable floss picks obsolete.
This is the 4th iteration and final design that I came up with, it fits a spool of floss from a standard Reach dental floss pack, and uses the floss cutter from the pack as well.
I have uploaded two versions, one with a nice curve in the handle but requires supports touching the build plate and some clean up after removing the supports.
The second version is flat and doesn't have the curved handle, this version can be printed with no supports at all, so little post processing is needed.
My Print parameters:
Ender 3:
.1mm Layer Height
80% Infill
Supports touching build plate only
Brim
Glue Stick for bed adhesion
SUPPORTS TOUCHING THE BUILD PLATE ONLY
(NO SUPPORTS NEEDED FOR THE CAP)
Once the floss has been pushed through the hold in the handle it is ready for use.
To use do one or two wraps around the neck where the v groves are, hook the floss on the top most hook and then wrap it once around the second hook, then do a few wraps around the neck portion with the v grooves to finish it off. Sound complicated, but is really simple.
Once your done flossing, simply unwrap it and cut off the used portion with the incorporated floss cutter.
