Description

PDF

This is a customizer-modified version of "Malolo's screw-less / snap fit customizable Raspberry Pi 4 Case & Stands" with the sole purpose of adding support for the Raspberry Pi Foundation's Official PoE HAT.

If you are not using the Official PoE HAT then use Malolo's case because there's no physical difference.

For more info, see Malolo's case page.

Important: The only thing changed from Malolo's case is the Customizer.zip, so nothing else will be different.

Updates

2021-12-13

Updated Customizer.zip to support both the new 25mm case style, but also to support the Official Raspberry Pi PoE+ HAT, accessible via a dropdown.

The new PoE+ HAT has a plug that sticks out too far and impedes the use of the camera slot and display slot, so if you want to use those, stick to the original PoE HAT.

You may have to route the fan wire a bit, I tried to offer space on both sides of the plug.

And do ensure your printer can handle the tolerances, as I've printed these a few times now and they fit perfectly and have a bit of space to spare, but it's still going to look really close.

Realized that the top case style "Hexagons - Two Materials" didn't actually have a supported color2 variant (if you want to do multi-color prints, you print color1 + color2). Fixed now, so you'd check off the same options on Case_Top_Color1 and Case_Top_Color2 and you'll get the correct models out.

After talking with some devs, it was pointed out that the original source files were not all manifold, and the underlying libraries used by OpenSCAD were erroring with that. Fixed the problematic geometry and all is working again.

Uploaded modified case Customizer.zip that supports PoE and the ability to modify the screw posts.

Note: there is a presumed bug in 2020.08.02.ci5674 (git bed95e77) Windows (non-Windows untested) where the following Top Styles fail due to some program error:

  • Hexagons - Multi Material
  • Slots - Single Material

Trying to get this issue resolved. Until then, it's marked as “Work in Progress”
