And we find the prior owner just snapped off the end of a standard size plate to fit in some surrounding trim… Yep, queue the rescue with a quick practical design and simply size to match the old in size and wife is happy. And I got to sit down and do the design and that is a bonus mid room decorating. Printed the white in PETG because it's what I had. 

Also, removed the stopping nubs on either side of the screw mount. It didn't need or add the support I thought it did initially. Again, file included for your adaptation.
