Info:
- decided to realize one more idea for furniture handles
- this time very simple design of round rods (they are printed standing)
- easily adjustable for any length between thread holes
- M4 threads on the bottom of each holder for attaching to furniture
- threads are printed horizontally, but they worked very well for me on given settings
- possibility to scale ↕ the rod to any length
- added possibility for HIDEOUT 🔐👮!
- hollow rod + covering cap
Print instructions:
- see 3mf
- ❗ 0.2 mm layer height, 0.4mm nozzle => with theese the thread works for me well, other settings may not work nicely, but you may try
- the thread will be too loose probably on bigger nozzles or higher layer hight
- no supports
- no brim needed
- print rod standing
- tip: seam (applied in attached gcodes + 3mf)
- place seam on the rod - on one side (so it can be turned to the furniture)
- place seam on the holder - on the back or inside, so it is invisible
If you want different size / distance between thread holes
Assembly:
- use M4 bold (up to 20mm) to tighten the rod in the holder
- be careful, not to screw it much, as rod can be broken
- they goes in the side holes
- then use another M4 (longer, required length depends on your furniture) to attach it to the furniture
Tips:
- if you plan to use hideout hollow rod:
- create some rods/handles with full body and for example only one hollow handle with hideout → will make it harder to spot the difference
- you can have whole body in the same color (rod+cap) or having cap with different color
- you can even create continuous endless rod, by having the adjacent surfaces inside the holder, the connection will be invisible - and both rods can be tighten with bolts inside
