I'm in the process of building an RC Airplane with the fuselage made from a pool noodle. I needed some landing gear wheels so I sliced some discs and printed a hub. Slice the pool noodle 15mm thick. The hole in the middle is 3mm. I used coat hanger wire to put it together. The hub will snugly pop in. I thought I was being inventive. I stumbled across a FliteTest video on YouTube where they did the same thing (8 years ago). They used water bottle caps for hubs. I think mine look nicer.
