Description

PDF

These baseplates provide a fixed place for your insertboxes: in your workspace, cupboard, drawer and all sorts of cases. The interlinkable systems allows bigger sizes than any printbed.

Besides the injection-molded industrial/trade type insertable bins, it is also compatible with the choice of Stackable Insertboxes available here on Printables.com: Variant Overview

For the latter, you will need the optional feet to make them find their place on the baseplate.

Functional Design Variants

baseplatebaseplate_solid
  • material saving
  • faster print
  • screw mount option
  • large surface on bottom
  • allows fixation with double-sided tape
  • closed style
  • infill saves some material

Application Examples

  • combine shapes and sizes as desired - with the Platelink
  • fixed to a surface with doublesided tape on the bottom - baseplate_solid variant

  • fixed to a surface with screws (see Variants) - Screw washer

  • positioned in a drawer, or case using the Plate distancer

Production

All parameters are provided in the 3mf files; just select your printer and your material and compensate the material shrinking by scaling the model. The latter is important when you plan to build larger grids: 0.5% shrinkage will affect fit at two Units already.

Designed for PETG, 0.2mm layer height and 0.4mm nozzle; distortion is an issue, especially with the larger baseplates. Parameters are the same for all parts, except 4x4 units don't have a skirt to fit on an a 210mm heatbed. Please feed back in the comments how you get on.

TL;DR

Use the provided 3mf files,

  • set your printer model
  • set your chosen material
  • set compensation for material shrinkage (for larger grids)

and you're good to go!

Assembly

In case you need a different size other to the available, you may combine all sizes with the Platelink. This allows you to create bigger baseplates than the buildplate of your 3d-printer, or lets you individually arrange shapes to fit your cases or tool boxes.

Clip the Platelink into the cavities on the bottom side of two adjoining baseplates. It will only work in one direction to engage the undercut - the small slot must always be visible. It also serves to unclip the Platelink with a small screwdriver.

Accessory:

Plate distancer
The distancers can be attached to position the baseplate in a cavity with circumferencing walls: to suit an individual case, they can be shortened by either slicer cut or cutting with a tool.

Screw washer
Provides screw holes to the baseplate variant - designed for 3mm countersunk screws
