So, this is my version of a Linear Rail Prusa Bear. Thank you to Grégoire Saunier for his fantastic work on the Prusa Bear, as this provided me with a fantastic starting off point.
This will continue to be added with details, but the interest is out there for people who want this now, so here are the basics.
Works with factory firmware, build volume is the same as stock
Required hardware:
350mm MGN12 linear rail with MGN12H Carriage - QTY: 3
350mm MGN12 linear rail with 2x MGN12C Carriage - QTY: 1
400mm MGN12 linear rail with MGN12H Carriage - QTY: 1
6mm GT belt 817mm for the x-axis, 637mm for the y axis however I would get extra and adjust as needed.
A lot of pieces in the x carriage use M3 threaded heat set inserts, I really like these ones rather than the cheap ones https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B077CJV3Z9
I highly recommend that you use genuine gates belts with gates idler/pulleys, as they're a bit wider than generic ones and that's what I designed these parts in mind with.
I also highly recommend that once you cut your belts to size, you use superglue to affix the belts to the belt retainer clips to secure them, otherwise you risk the belts slipping out.
I will slowly add to this, including more detailed information on required hardware for bolt sizes, etc. Maybe even instructions.
Update 28Apr2020:
The author remixed this model.
Modified extensively to use linear rails.
