Update Apr. 28, 2020: There was an error in the part files posted before this date. This has been corrected.
This little known part for the Atlas 7B Shaper was not offered as a standard part of the machine. This bracket replaces the switch and switch plate, and enables an external switch box to be mounted on the shaper (see photos). Typically used with a standard switch box and NEMA manual motor starter.
The provided print is designed for the corner holes in the rectangular part of the bracket to be tapped 1/4"-20. I considered designing the part so that brass threaded inserts could be used, but I did not think there was enough material in the corners to provide a secure hold. I did a partial test print to test the threaded plastic, and it appears to hold securely.
Note: Photos of an original cast iron switch bracket and mounted switch provided courtesy of another Atlas 7B shaper owner - thanks fg!
Print in PLA with the provided 3mf file; otherwise:
Set perimeters to 8 to provide a secure bed for threading. Print rectangular side down with supports (for the counterbores).
