Cheap speedlights tripods heads have those metal hot shoe mounts. I really don't like them, so I replaced them with my own.

// Printing info

  • use PETG to ensure, that adapters are strong enugh
  • print “Cold shoe” standing on it's back - no supports needed
  • print “adapter_plate” on biggest flat surfece - add supports in nuts holes (you don't need them in screw holes)

// Assembly

Assemble them using two flat(!) M3x10mm screws (you can use a bit logner - there's free space underneath) and M3 nuts.

Mount them in place of oryginal one and you're ready to shoot!

// Sizes

There're two versions, because in my tripod heads there're differnet distances between mounting screews (see attached drawings and file names). Outer dimensions are the same.

// Other info

Adapter plates are designed to use oryginal mounting screws - they work with M3 and with Φ3 screws for plastic.

I've tessted them with Yongnuo speedlights made for Nikon.
