Broken Key Repair

We have miserable quality key from our gate. I tried repair it when brake down. I grind down free end first to fit in 3D printed grip (see picture). 

The slot in grip shape is fitted for it (see blue picture). There are two slim strips as support for printing. They can be easily removed. Put grip to hot water for  few seconds and then plug rest of key in the slot with gently presure.

I printed it from PETG filament. It can be printed without support.
