I liked the idea behind this design, but it was too flimsy, even printed on PETG it kept breaking when dropped on the floor.
This is designed for the Black Diamond “HotForge” carabiner from their quick-draws, but should fit any of the thinner/lightweight modern style of carabiner.
So I decided to take inspiration from it and design a new one from scratch, this one is much thicker, and really doesn't need much to be solid, I printed it in Draft quality, with variable layer height and 15% infill, and I can throw that thing on the ground without any issues.
Still included a loop so you can clip it to your harness for some higher up clipping if needed.
I designed the holed to perfectly fit with a piece I cut out of a wire clothes hanger I had laying around (it's a wire with a plastic coating on it) included the Fusion 360 sources if you want to tweak that.
I am using this pole from Canadian Tire, it's really light, and at 16$ you can't go wrong (free squeegee included) the reach is plenty enough so far, only downside is that it doesn't fold that short, so you have to carry it on the side of you backpack.
