Description:

I have a dear friend that is on prednisone which causes hand tremors. They were explaining the difficulty of precise task that I never thought as precise. Which got me thinking about the accessibility of this printer and the hobby I love.  One thing I noticed  was feeding filament into my printer and how cumbersome that would be if I had a tremor. So I made some small tweaks to the original cover to have clip-able funnel or chute to make it easier to guide the filament in.

Printing and install:

Printed both parts in about an hour. Used Formfutura Black rPET, black is what Prusa recommends for these parts. You'll have to clean the holes out a bit, but the two parts will clip together.

You'll just need to unload the filament unscrew the single screw at the top to remove the stock cover, put the new cover on and clip in the funnel. I tried my best to make the clip easy to put in, sorry if it isn't. Feed the filament in and then test clearances. You want to take it to the top of Z using the move axis setting then running it straight across X axis using the same controls. With luck it shouldn't bump into anything

Lets talk:

I have been thinking a lot about how we could make this printer more accessible for those 3D printer enthusiasts with health conditions or impairments. I would love to hear anyone's idea in the comments or a complaint on a current design that we could make easier to use.

Happy Printing!
