Clever design. I printed the separate parts version first (for 4 mm cord) and then the Print-In-Place after. (I prefer the separate parts version simply because the insert printed with a cleaner bottom. Perhaps my brim setting in Orca?)

The only problem that I had with this model was with the number. First, why is it there? Second - and this might be partially an Orca-specific issue - the SCAD model for the number isn't scaled with the rest of the model. (See screen shot.)

When I imported the .3mf, Orca said that the model was too small and might be in meters or inches. It asked if it I wanted to scale it to mm. I said "Yes."

Then Orca said "This file contains several objects positioned at multiple heights.
... should the file be loaded as a single object with multiple parts?" Either Yes or No gives the same result with the oversized numerals piercing the body.

And finally a warning that "OpenSCAD Model is too close to others and collisions may be caused."

At first, I thought the giant parts making a 1.0 was part of the model that had to be inserted somewhere. But later I realized that it's some kind of versioning in the SCAD file (?) and the number - which imports as one object - can be deleted.

PETG. 0.4 mm nozzle. 0.2 mm layer height. Random seams. Latest Orca Nightly on a Klipperized Ender 3 v2, with an Orbiter 2.5.

Yes, it is a version number to track changes in my mess of designs. I used this when using CURA which simply silently ignores them. But i am not using them about 3years. Just delete them - if not scaled they are not printable but if slicers throw error… Sorry

May i add that using experimental "lazy union" lead to separate objects in 3mf files - so deletion is easy.

Easy printing in PETG

My wife is making a few bucket hats and these cord locks were the perfect addition. Quick and painless to print too. Many thanks!

Wow! Just works great as a replacement for shoelace with 2 mm 3-core paracord.
Just wanted to design such a thing and thought I'd have a look on Printables first... that saved me a lot of time.
Thank you so much for sharing!

Works very nice. Only thing is I needed a bit of experience with separating inner and outer part. Small screwdriver works like charm. Will definitely make and use more.

Works like a charm. Thx for this design

It seems to work very well.

Finally I found solution for problem I made myself.

I wanted to design something similar, and as most of the time, someone had the same problem :) thank you for this

@idaadi you are welcome - let me know if you have any suggestion to improve it (or remix yourself)
