This is based off of the NIH surgical mask comfort strap designed to hold the loops off of the ears. https://3dprint.nih.gov/discover/3dpx-013410 and https://www.prusaprinters.org/social/1755-eric/prints
This needs to be printed at:
0.2 layer height for all layers
7 walls (I've gone as low as 4 without a problem)
Top, Bottom, and Infill should all be set to zero
My remix is thinner ( 1 mm vs 2 mm) and eliminates the right angles that can sometimes snag on the mask straps.
It is also significantly lighter (1.83 grams vs 4 grams) making it cheaper and much faster to print.
I personally find it more comfortable as the band is more flexible.
There is no issue with strength and the mask straps will detach from the mask before the device fails.
This has undergone real-world testing and is actively being used in my department. (I'm an emergency nurse)
