I wanted a small box for my TS80 + the accessories I need. I decises that I did not need to include the power brick because the TS80 can run from the same power supply as my laptop.
The body fits:
Thanks to
I was heavily inspired by the following designs. Huge thanks to these guys.
- registeredthing have designed a case where the spool of tin and a mini t-stand fits in. The desing look awesome, but I would like to have a flatter case, as it fits better in my bag. I designed this case to fit the spool from registeredthing design. I changed the spool design slightly to be able to fit both tin and wick on it.
- pbtec have designed a case that is exactly as rugged an simpel as I prefere. It prints in one piecs, and the hinges really works nice. As it is clear to see, I have copied as many feature as I could from that design, incl the hinges, the size of the chamfered edges, the size of the box and the spacing of the TS80 and the tips.
Print instructions
The box
The box prints in one piece, and hindges just work (tm).
the spool
The spool prints in 4 parts. Part 1, 2 and 3 are the actual spool and needs to be gluet together. Be careful to alige the slot in the parts - this will make it a lot easier when loading solder wick and tin on it ;)
Part 4 is a clip to hold the solder wick on the spool, as it otherwise will un-spool it self.
