I love these Contigo AUTOSEAL water bottles but their one flaw is that they get all dented and mangled if you ever drop them, and then they never stand upright without wobbling. So I made this bumper sleeve thing out of TPU that slides over the bottom of the bottle and it matches the base profile exactly. Now it I drop the thing, the infill just gets squished and prevents any dents from forming on the base.

NOTE: This will only fit the most current model of these bottles, contigo redesigned the base profile a few years ago, going from a small fillet to a large chamfer. Make sure your bottle also has the large chamfer at the base.

I only modeled it to fit the 32-oz bottle, but I also have an old dented-up 24-oz (see the silver bottle in the photos) and it appears that the profile is extremely similar and wouldn't have to be changed that much to get it to fit(and obviously the diameter is smaller). So if you need this to work for any other size besides the 32-oz version, I attached my fusion 360 file to make any necessary edits. I would first just print a small cross section in PLA as a test until you get the profile to match up.

On my Bambu Labs X1 Carbon printer this took about 2 hours to print, but it will most likely take closer to 4 hours on any other standard non high-speed printer.

Print settings used:

3 wall layers

4 top layers

concentric top infill pattern (to make it much smoother and to prevent a lot of stringing)

0.16mm layer height

25% gyroid infill, make sure to set this high enough to sufficiently fill up the empty space to provide the necessary springiness, but not too high where the bumper cant collapse under impact, I found that the gyroid at 25% “felt” best
