3-Tray Index Card Inbox / Outbox

This is a 3-tray inbox/outbox for standard 3" x 5" index cards. I have rubber feet attached to the bottom to prevent it from sliding around my desk; I recommend that you do the same.

This is a staple of my daily productivity/workflow system. The way I use this is as follows:

• The tray on the left is my “inbox”. When I have a new task, I write it on an index card with the date and drop it in the left-most tray.
• The tray on the right is my “done” box. When the task is done, I write the completion date on the back of the card and drop it in the right-most tray.
• The center tray holds a stack of blank cards, so I always have cards at the ready.

In addition to this, I also use an index card tickler system (not pictured) to surface specific cards that I need to see on certain days, as well as a place to keep all of my non-time-sensitive cards. So, while this inbox is part of my system, it's not the entirety of the system itself.
