and built the complete costume in lifesize. It took about 40 hours to print (parallel on a MK3S and a Prusa Mini) with some parts I had to try several times.
This is based on a miniature/figure: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3663935
There were a few changes that I had to make though:
Some parts I edited to flat instead of curved to print them easier. Then I curved them after the printing with my hairdryer. It is thermo plastics after all. (The hairpieces and The pelvic/butt shield)
Most parts I had to resize, because Carrie Fisher was obviously inhumanly slim in her 20s (The hip connectors and the armpieces)
I had to remodel the chainlink rings, so I could make an actual chain out of it that could be attached to the collar.
I had to model the hairpiece that goes on the braid; that was missing totally.
Some parts were sanded before beeing paitned, some were not because I actually liked the rougher layered look, on the pelvic plate in particular. The bra are drilled with tiny holes parts a woven together with thin gold wire, and the cloth is simply hotglued in.
There were some parts where I had to derive not only from these models but also from the original, because i wanted to incorporate a bikini of a certain brand to show the costume off in a bikini competition. That is why I did not attach the breast part to the collar and omitted the little cones that sit on the top of the breast part.
The author remixed this model.
