10.10.22 Update: Added a second version were the nut in inserted to the print part way. This avoid any gluing and results in a clear print. It also had chambered edges to make tightening less painful.
I have used the Mini Tablet Tripod Mount from Square Jellyfish for several years and been really happy with it. Last week after a camping trip, I lost the screw knob that tightens the mount (see image below).
Went to Home Depot and picked up a couple M4-0.7mm Hex Nut for $2 and modeled a new parametric knob in OnShape based on my memory and reference pictures I found online. A small dollup of super glue to secure the nut and I'm back in business.
WARNING: If using glue, make sure to use a small amount of super glue otherwise you risk getting it in the threads of the hex nut.
